Since correlation does not imply causation, I'm not really sure if Kaspersky is the cause or not. Before my internet went out, the last thing I was doing was updating my Kaspersky AV with the newest product version and performing a system scan. Anytime I tried, it immediately said "server not found." I decided to try connecting to the internet in Safe Mode with Networking and low-and-behold it works without incident. Although, under Control Panel -> Network Connections, it said I had a valid connection and I could release/renew my IP address, I could not connect to a website. Earlier today my internet apparently went out. My apartment complex provides my internet service as part of my rent.
